Pugs Like Pumpkins, Pigs Like Fairies: 16 Creative Pet Costumes From The Annual Contest

Over 100 pets dressed as social media sensations, pop stars, politicians and more are expected at 93Q’s annual Ted and Amy Pet Costume Contest.

The contest will take place Saturday at Billy Whittaker’s Cars and Trux, located at 309 US Route 11, between Brewerton and Central Square. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and judging will begin at 10 a.m.

Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each category, which includes cutest and quirkiest costume, most unique pet, multiple pet, best pet/owner costume combo and the best pop culture reference. The overall grand prize is $500, courtesy of Billy Whittaker’s Cars and Trux.

Gizmo the dog won the grand prize in 2007. Gizmo was dressed as Cruella DeVil at the annual pet costume contest in North Syracuse. The owner is Harmony Stidham, of Eastwood.
