PetSmart releases additional data from its inaugural pet survey, revealing which province is most likely to dress their pet

According to the national PetSmart survey conducted by DART Insights, dog owners in Quebec and cat owners in British Columbia are more likely than any other province in Canada to dress up their pets and go to a party with them. a pet. The PetSmart Pet Poll asked 1,600 pet owners across Canada what superpower they wish their pet had. Both dog and cat owners agreed that healing would be the preferred power at 29% (31% of dog owners and 28% of cat owners). Mind reading comes second at 27% (29% dog owners and 26% cat owners) and speed comes third at 14% (15% dog owners and 12% cat owners). cats).

The PetSmart Pet Poll also revealed the following information about Canadian pet owners:

  • Nothing is purrive: Dog and cat owners in Atlantic Canada are split on the ability to read minds: 37% of cat owners want their pet to have mind-reading abilities (highest response nationally ), while 26% of dog owners would like their dog to have mind-reading abilities (the lowest response nationally).
  • Now You See Me, Now You Do not : Pet owners in Saskatchewan and Manitoba want their pet to have powers of speed (17%) or invisibility (16%) – the highest response rates in Canada.
  • Brrr… it’s cold: It’s no surprise that the ability to freeze things is the least popular superhero power. Only one percent of all Canadian pet owners would like their pet to have this power.

Survey methodology
A total of 1,600 pet owners were interviewed, including 800 dog owners and 800 cat owners. Using a Bayesian credibility interval, the combined national pet owner results are deemed accurate to within +/- 2.8%, 19 times out of 20; owners of dogs and cats weighted at 800 samples each are deemed accurate to +/- 4.0, 19 times out of 20.
